If you’re a connected Aussie hairdresser, there’s no doubt you’ve tuned in and trained up to the revolving skillset (and comradery on cue) that defines our latest digital education offering: Club Journal.
It’s the Lazy Susan of hairdressing; spinning with bite-sized pieces of education to whet your appetite for ongoing knowledge… when traditional human exchange is a little restricted right now. But it’s no standard, online education experience.
And boy have we had some crackers so far. Club Journal launched with our inaugural Victoria Edition, giving us the perfect chance to celebrate our Victorian community and share (all!) the love during these challenging past few months.
We spoke with Marie Uva, Wieslemann’s Dee Parker (who tore the tape off a series of unseen interviews with her biggest hair heroes), Freda Rossidis (who gave us unbridled access backstage and beyond, sharing the how, why and which way of working global fashion weeks); Jamie Furlan, Lyndal Salmon and Tom White cutting the (proverbial) rug, and Rachel Vitullo demoing a seamless colour melt every client will want this summer.
Now that the fire’s been stoked, there’s no going back, and here at Club Journal we are so excited to announce our next leg kicking off with a DOUBLE HEADER: commencing with a session on Sunday 18th October at 7pm, and followed up with a second instalment on Monday 19th at 7pm – that’s back to back education!
Ever the innovators, Club Journal’s latest edition is brought to you by none other than the legends at ghd, as headed by some of their top Creative Artists. Over the next four weeks you will see the following artists showcase new trend reveals, signature styles and ways to utilise the expansive ghd range – both in your salons and for your clients at home.

Launching with a bang; Sheree Knobel and Pauline McCabe will kick us off on Sunday night with a Christmas Trend reveal. Shortly thereafter, Brodie Lee Tsiknaris and Mary Alamine will take the reins, showcasing innovative waves and curls the following day. Both sessions will commence at 7pm @thejournalmag.
As always, our innovative format involves a pre-recorded edit for education that you can really utilise, followed by a live Q&A in which you can connect with and get to know each artist while elevating your new learnings.
