WELCOME: CLUB JOURNAL

MDIVISION launches digital education offering with new, interactive concepts and global engagement.

In these unprecedented times we feel it’s important to band together, stand up and skill-up to strengthen and succeed while riding this weird old wave of change. This industry is unique in many ways, but none more so than our capacity to create and collaborate for united success.

Enter Club Journal, an M DIVISION initiative spearheaded by THE JOURNAL team and designed to keep you educated and entertained while navigating this tricky landscape that is life right now. The objective is a strengthened, more inspired community courtesy of tailored, digital content and quality educators – education and information edited in-house for your interactive pleasure. And expect more than the usual hair heroes (while we’ll be leveraging their brain power too), get set for some of Australian hairdressing’s most inspired youth – there is much to learn from these digital savvy creators connected like none other.

This is about giving back with a growth offering for salons and stylists locked down and potentially unable to access education for enlivened spirit and ongoing success. Live, immersive experiences where the education dives deeper with direct community-to-educator activity.

“It’s important to realise the changing landscape of life and education we all find ourselves in. With a platform like THE JOURNAL, we want to build and support our community and the industry at large by offering top level education during incredibly difficult and stressful times for hairdressers. A respite from the daily to reinvigorate, inspire and entertain,” says Lauren McCowan, MDIVISION Hair and Education Director.

Digital education is not a new concept, we know. So what makes us different?

“Anyone can put out education online, and the sharing of the industry has been amazing to watch. We wanted to recognise our position as an industry leader and really give stylists of all levels a top-quality education product to reflect and respect the quality of artists giving us their time. Making sure that our curation of artists and art not only inspires, but offers real learning opportunities that hairstylists can actually use in their repertoire,” continues Lauren.

We’re going live this coming Monday August 17th with a focus on those feeling it most – our fellow Victorians. We want to invigorate the vibes and keep Melbourne moving with a celebration of the city’s brimming bag of talent. They’re a little bit darker and (some might say) daring than our shiny Sydney counterparts, and we can’t wait to see what they serve.  Tune in and watch Jamie Furlan, Rachel Vitullo, Marie Cain, Marie Uva, Lyndal Salmon, Freda Rossidis and Tom White create to every hairdressers’ ultimate brief ‘whatever you want.’

“I’ve been blown away by the response from colleagues and friends when I asked if they would do this. It really goes to show how passionate and supportive our industry can be. I’m excited for what they will bring – I’ve told them to do whatever they want.’

And because positive mental health is an art form in itself, Club Journal viewers can look forward to content across cut, colour, style, business and wellbeing.

“This is for absolutely everyone – we want to bring our community together and create an engaging series with useful information across categories beyond creative such as business, health and mindfulness – topics crucial to success in life and business,” says Lauren.

Each 30-minute artist session is pre-recorded, edited right here at MDIVISION and then launched on Instagram. Every Monday we invite followers to view the content, formulate any questions and tune-in 24 hours later (Tuesday 6:30PM) for a live Q&A session with the respective talent, and as hosted by THE JOURNAL.

The better the question, the greater your chance of walking away with an MDIVISION prize pack of varied products and tools to support that newfound knowledge (with each artist selecting their favourite query from each live session).

Weekly artist announced every Friday.

Let’s do this. See you Monday night, 6:30PM @thejournalmag
