This November, Oscar Oscar Salons will be celebrating twenty-six years of creating award-winning and glamorous hair. Owned and directed by celebrity hairdresser, Oscar Cullinan, Oscar Oscar Salons has achieved outstanding success, expanding over the last two and half decades to now operate fifteen luxury salon locations across Australia, employing more than 200 team members.
Hailing from Ireland, Oscar Cullinan has come a long way since first arriving in Australia aged twenty-one. Whilst working in Melbourne and Sydney’s trendiest salons his dream was always to one day own his own business. This dream was realised in 1989 with the grand opening of his first salon in Brisbane’s Broadway on the Mall.
In the twenty-six years since this first salon opening, Oscar Cullinan has been twice-awarded Australian Hairdresser of the Year, as well as nominated as a finalist twelve times for his signature collections of glamorous, fashionable hair. Creative and business success has positioned Oscar Cullinan and his brand, as a true entrepreneurial success story in the Australian hairdressing industry.
“The best decision I’ve made is staying true to our brands mission and never compromising on providing the ultimate luxury guest experience, even when times were tough like during the GFC. When you bite off more than you can chew you have to chew like hell! I have always tried to step up when times have been tough, often surprising myself at how resilient I can be.”

On the horizon for 2016 and beyond is a continued focus on organic business growth for Oscar Oscar Salons, with a view to eventually expand the business to 25 – 30 salons over the next 10 years.
