Ask any style savvy girl (or guy) to name the hair tool they can’t live without. Chances are, they’ll respond with three letters.

Benefactors of many a good hair day, ghd are continuing to the raise the hair stakes with an all new (and all glam) professional hot tool. Inside Milsons Point’s, scenic Wildlife Salon, hairstylists, editors, and influencers were invited to road test the new gold professional styler, whilst indulging on themed martinis, canapés… and afternoon chatter.

ghd Creative Director for Australia/New Zealand Richard Kavanagh first guided attendees through a super sleek sky high ponytail (on model and influencer Sammy Robinson), before detailing the myriad benefits of the brand’s latest offering: a sleek, and technologically superior upgrade on ghd’s universally popular platinum styler.

“For me, it’s really about the ergonomics and ease of use,” began Richard; “Not only does it give incredible results quickly and easily – for sleeker, smoother and shinier hair – but it’s [also] beautiful in the hand. When you’re working with a tool all day and every day, it’s really nice to have something that’s easy to use.”

Set to hit shelves early February, the new gold styler heats to an optimal 185 degrees in 25 seconds, boasts a sleek design & round barrel for versatile styling, and utilises improved dual-zone technology, with two heat sensors maintaining optimum styling heat.

The styler’s smooth, contoured floating plates glide quickly and easily through tresses, for frizz-free styling and enhanced salon shine, while it’s universal voltage ensures global usability. (For those guilty of neglecting the off-switch, the auto sleep mode ensures your styler always gets its beauty sleep!)

Guests were treated to personal styling sessions courtesy of ghd Brand Warrior Brodie-Lee Stubbins, Wildlife Salon owner and ghd brand ambassador Jayne Wild, and a selection of the ghd style team, including Travis Bandeira. Stylists demonstrated a selection of sleek, textured and gold gilded looks, coaching attendees on the new styler’s use and versatility.

The afternoon’s pièce de résistance? Unveiling of the world’s most expensive (and opulent) styler… namely the coveted ghd 18K gold styler, worth over $3,000! With only 10 available across Australia and New Zealand, consumers have the chance to win 1 of 3 by purchasing and registering their new ghd styling tools. Happy Styling!
