CARLA ZAMPATTI SS17 TEATRO SHOW

The Journal was thrilled to attend Carla Zampatti’s Teatro Show, showcasing the veteran designer’s Spring Summer Collection for 2017. Held at Sydney Theatre Company’s Wharf 1, the dazzling demonstration was every bit the glittered fantasy. Hair was directed by Paloma Rose Garcia alongside District Salon for Redken Australia, with makeup expertly applied by MAC’s creative team.

“An A-List gathering of fashion and beauty media, Carla’s loyal legion of fans, the cream of stage and screen actors and today’s new celebrities – the influencers, came together in full force to celebrate the theatrical launch of Carla Zampatti’s Spring Summer 2017 Collection staged at the Sydney Theatre Company, Wharf 1. The black theatre stage featuring the Carla Zampatti family crest was dramatically lit by a giant antique chandelier.”

The Collection for Spring / Summer 2017 harked to the 80’s with exaggerated shoulders, asymmetrical necklines and strong sharp slim silhouettes. A strong statement in red, ivory, royal, silver and Carla Zampatti’s favourite shade, black. Fabrics crossed the gamut of metallics in oversized silver stripes or intricate laces, royal blue organza, mesh liquid knit, bold red taffeta and embroidered birds and flora on black netting.

Draping across the body and sumptuous organza bows ensured this collection was the perfect statement for power office dressing and red carpet entrance makers. A finale tableau with 18 models positioned on multiple staircases was the perfect theatrical finish when the set was showered in gold foil. All that glitters leads to Carla Zampatti Spring Summer 2017.”

Guests included: Quentin Bryce AC, Roslyn Packer AO, Leila McKinnon, Natalie Barr, Natarsha Belling, Deborah Hutton, Kerri-anne Kennerley, Dami Im, Rafael Bonacella, The Honorable Katrina Hodgkinson MP, Anna Bamford, Nicole da Silva, Danielle Cormack, Erika Heynatz, Emma Lung, Terry Biviano, Sophie Falkiner, Anna Heinrich and Kate Waterhouse.”
