AHC LAUNCH SALON SELECT SMILES FOR STARLIGHT
The Australian Hairdressing Council (AHC) will once again collaborate with the Starlight Children’s Foundation for Salon Select Smiles for Starlight. Now in its third year, the venerable initiative makes valued contribution to the lives of seriously ill children; spreading an abundance of smiles and starlight. With over 200 salons signed up so far, this year looks set to make an even larger impact. The official campaign will kick off this Friday 5th May, alongside Starlight Day, the Starlight Foundation’s largest national fundraising event.
“Through the incredible fundraising efforts of participating salons in 2016, the Salon Select Smiles for Starlight campaign raised over $94,000 in the month of May. This topped their inaugural effort by almost $20,000 – an incredible feat by any standards. Following the success of last year’s drive, the AHC have raised the bar YET AGAIN and want to make an even bigger impact through this year’s fundraising efforts. And with the goal of $100,000 for Starlight set, they need the industry’s help!”
“It’s never been easier to get involved, and make a huge difference in the lives of someone less fortunate. All that interested salons need to do throughout the month of May, in celebration of Starlight Day, is ask each client to add $1 to their salon bill as a donation to Starlight… It’s as simple as that. Participating salons will be sent everything that they need to assist in spreading smiles, so please dig deep and get involved!”
“So, what’s in store for Salon Select Smiles for Starlight in 2017? As always, the fundraising will begin on May 1 and continue for the duration of May. Friday May 5, is Starlight Day… Or, the MANE EVENT for Salon Select Smiles for Starlight. In honour of this special day, a national Pyjama Dress Up Day will be held across all participating salons! You guessed it; grab your most comfortable slippers and favourite teddy bear, because all stylists will be encouraged to show up to work in their PJ’s to raise awareness of this incredible cause. More information regarding this day will be released as it approaches, so stay tuned for what is sure to be a great industry-wide Starlight Day.” Australian Hairdressing Council
