Exciting news: Australian barber Luke Munn has been named one of five global winners in American Crew’s 2020 All-Star Challenge.
Adelaide’s own Luke Munn has been named a Global Winner for the 2020 American Crew All-Star Challenge. Beating out hundreds of talented applicants from across Australia, Luke first secured the national title with his textured (and uber-wearable) interpretation of the modern, American Crew man.
“[I’m] so incredibly humbled to take out the @americancrewoz 2020 Australian All Star Challenge!” Luke shared via his personal instagram account. “The idea was to go away from the norm and create something with a lot of texture; [something] with a creative flair that is still very wearable for everyday client[s].”
Hot on the heels of his national award win, Luke was today announced as one of five Global All-Star Challenge Winners for 2020, chosen from a 29-strong list of international finalists. Winners were selected by an expert judges committee, including American Crew Founder David Raccuglia.
“The level of artistry that was displayed in this year’s All-Star Challenge showcases the way the industry is evolving and diversifying,” shared David. “Our five winners brought forth their individual backgrounds, grooming specialties, cultures, and visions to life in a way that truly excited the Global Committee.”
He continues, “We look forward to seeing how this accolade helps push their creativity and further their careers in 2020 and beyond.”
Each winner was chosen by a respective, national panel before which qualifying looks were submitted to The All-Star Challenge Global Committee. Submissions were scored for: haircut structure and finishing, originality, representation of the American Crew brand and Artistic Direction (photography and wardrobe).
As one of five Global All-Star Challenge winners, Luke will share in an impressive portfolio of prizes including $5,000 prize money, an invitation to attend an exclusive American Crew Style Makers trip to Los Angeles, plus an editorial photo shoot with American Crew – shot by David Raccuglia himself.
Global Winners for 2020 also included Belgium’s Jonathan Pereira, Canadian delegate Sandra Perovic, Daniil Gochua of Russia and finally Switzerland’s David Da Campo. A big congratulations to Luke (Aussie, Aussie, Aussie!) and all of the talented Global All-Stars!
