HAIRDRESSER OF THE YEAR NOW OPEN TO NEW ZEALAND!

That’s right, you read correctly… We’ve dropped ‘Australian’ from the biggest award of the night and, for the first time in AHFA history, entries for Hairdresser of the Year are now open to New Zealand!

Perhaps one of the most pivotal changes in 2021, this means that the competition will be even fiercer with – dare we even say it – collections more incredible than ever!

EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION TO CELEBRATE BOTH BRAND AND INDIVIDUAL

Whilst the Excellence in Education category has been around for a while, we’re thrilled to announce that the category will be split in 2021 – with Excellence in Education now being awarded to outstanding Brand and Individual instead of just one category covering both.

It’s a fantastic opportunity for the AHFAs to celebrate excellence from both brand and individuals in the realm of education, and offers up even more opportunity for the educators amongst us to be recognised for their incredible feats.

MARKETING TEAM OF THE YEAR CATEGORY ADDED

Behind every brand is an incredibly clever and hard-working marketing team tirelessly working to create cutting edge campaigns and increase widespread awareness.

2021 will see a brand new category added, with MARKETING TEAM OF THE YEAR now officially open for entry. With so many amazing campaigns constantly being produced, this category is sure to be one filled with stiff competition. Personally, we cannot wait to check out the outstanding entries!

AHFA ENTRIES NOW OPEN TO NEW ZEALAND

Not only have we ditched the ‘Australian’ from the Hairdresser of the Year award and included New Zealand in the biggest accolade of the night, we’re extending this to all categories (sans the state-based awards, of course!) and welcome our neighbours from across the pond to show off their very finest work against the homegrown talent at the 2021 AHFAs.

ENTRY DEADLINE EXTENDED DUE TO LOCKDOWN

Another first for the Australian Hair Fashion Awards is the official decision being made to extend entries to ensure all that wish to enter can without being affected by the ever-changing lockdown restrictions rolling out across the nation.

Of the decision to extend the deadline, M Division Director David Mannah highlights the need for flexibility in this most unpredictable of times. “We’re excited to announce a one month extension due to interrupted schedules of our entrants and trust this new deadline keeps the door wide open for all who plan on entering the AHFA,” he says.
