WELCOME SALON LANE: A NEW STUDIO CONCEPT

Bolstered by an ambitious roll out plan, Salon Lane’s mission is to be the largest provider of flexible, premium workspaces for hair, beauty and wellness professionals in Australia – making it easier for professionals to operate their own successful businesses.

In an ever evolving business landscape, innovation is key.

As such, it’s crucial to maintain a solid point of difference. To develop and apply new ideas, new methods and new approaches to getting things done.

Making a solid case for innovation is Salon Lane; a unique hair and beauty concept that’s taken the US by storm. And for good reason. First introduced in 1999, Salon Lane offers a unique and flexible studio model, comprising move-in-ready spaces for stylists, beauticians and other industry professionals, while allowing each to manage and maintain their own respective businesses and chosen profit structures.

Now, the popular salon concept is headed down under, with the launch of Salon Lane’s first flagship site in Surry Hills, Sydney. An aptly eclectic region befitting the brand’s multifaceted appeal. The biggest drawcard? Salon Lane will provide a cost effective, and low risk option for creatives far and wide – most expressly as many attempt to navigate business ownership during the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Bolstered by an ambitious roll out plan, Salon Lane’s mission is to be the largest provider of flexible, premium workspaces for hair, beauty and wellness professionals in Australia. Designed to empower small business owners, Salon Lane eliminates the long term leases, fit out and overhead costs associated with standalone premises, making it easier for professionals (emerging and established) to operate their own successful businesses.

At the core of Salon Lane’s approach? Freedom and flexibility; with both daily, monthly and annual options available as well as an array of studio sizes and configurations, ranging from communal workspace through to private studios. Professionals are able to access the facility from 7am – 10pm all year round, and may benefit from their new extended community – with a network of neighbouring creatives in close proximity.

Boasting a wealth of experience, acumen and passion between them; Salon Lane’s founding partners include industry veteran, Co-Founder and Director Moss Kadey. With 30-years’ experience in the hair and business industries, Kadey previously helped post as the Chairman and Co-founder of Luxury Brand Partners, owners of Oribe, R+Co, IGK, Smith & Cult, and Beca. He also Co-Founded Bumble & Bumble Products LLC.

Joining Moss is the equivalently accomplished Lance Kalish; Co-founder of Yes To (a highly successful natural beauty brand that currently boasts over 28,000 stockists). He also co-founded and was former CEO of the Los Angeles based Beach House Group (a global beauty incubator operating a host of pioneering celebrity-influencer haircare, skincare and cosmetic brands).

Last but certainly not least is Jared Keen. Dubbed a ‘serial entrepreneur’, Keen has achieved renown in the Australian property management and technology industries, and has worked across both the US and Australian markets. As Salon Lane’s CEO, Keen will ensure the prolonged growth and success of the enterprise both locally and beyond.

“The salon studios concept has been quietly growing at a rapid pace across the USA, largely because of the level of freedom and professional support it provides hair and beauty specialists, allowing them to create and run the business of their dreams,” shares Lance Kalish. Internationally, there has been a significant shift to this model of working, and we believe that Australian hairstylists, barbers, makeup artists, beauty therapists, nail technicians, masseurs and other industry professionals are ready for that shift because it ultimately benefits them, and the industry as a whole.”

A sentiment Moss Kadey echoes; “Coming from North America, I have witnessed the huge change in industry to this model. I have seen firsthand how the industry is changing and moving towards this concept.” Change is a-coming… and we can’t wait!
