TRANSFORMATION: PUREOLOGY X MICHELLE BATTERSBY

I love brands with purpose, that stand for something other than their core product offering. Pureology’s Beauty with Meaning campaign ties so much of that together.

Pureology has announced an exclusive partnership with Former Chief Marketing Officer at health and wellness app, Keep It Cleaner, Michelle Battersby.

In celebration of their Beauty with Meaning mission, the brand is working to align with women of beauty and substance, going inside their stories, challenges and successes and sharing with the wider Pureology community with the objective to lift and empower.

A tech visionary, Michelle Battersby was just 22 when she began managing her own departments as a Human Resource Generalist. Like all hungry entrepreneurs, it wasn’t long before Michelle was looking toward her next move … landing on her feet with the launch of popular US dating app, Bumble, right here in Australia. It wasn’t long before the brand entered cult status, followed and adored by gen Z’s across the globe. Since joining Keep It Cleaner in November 2019, Battersby has led the team from a start-up fitness app to global empire, and is showing no signs of slowing as a smart, strategic, modern woman.

And what better way to kick off a Pureology partnership than with a hair colour transformation? Michelle recently visited Salon Gabrielle for a post-iso blonde reset, entrusting her look with Melbourne darling, Gabrielle Roccuzzo.

Here, we chat crazy hair moments, biggest hair needs and ultimate Pureology products with Michelle herself.

TJ: What are you most looking forward to about your partnership with Pureology?

MB: I have always considered myself an amateur when it comes to styling my own hair and over the years have certainly put it through a lot when it comes to colour. So, I love that I can now focus on nurturing my hair and using the very best products. I also love that with Pureology products you don’t have to be a styling expert. My DIY styling confidence has totally improved now.

TJ: What do you love most about the Pureology brand values

MB: I love that Pureology isn’t just about beauty, it has substance, meaning and purpose. Integrity means a lot to me, so I love seeing brands which value this.

TJ: What do you look for in a beauty brand?

MB: I love brands with purpose, that stand for something other than their core product offering. Pureology’s Beauty with Meaning campaign ties so much of that together.

TJ: What is the most crazy thing you have ever done to your hair?

MB: Dyed my hair red – not that crazy but a fun change. I have changed my hair colour so many times, it’s now time to take care of it!

TJ: What are your biggest hair needs?

MB: My hair is really dry, fine and has always been prone to knots. Keeping it hydrated and smooth, while still having volume, is a must for me.

TJ: What is your favourite Pureology haircare product?

MB: The Pure Volume Shampoo and Conditioner. My hair is so fine and flat, so this boosts it straight away while still making it super shiny.

TJ: What is your favourite Pureology styler?

MB: I love the Beach Waves Sugar Spray. It doesn’t dry my hair out like other beach texture products and is really nourishing.

Throughout 2021, make sure you keep up with Michelle and the rest of the Pureology Beauty with Meaning Collective as they continue to celebrate female empowerment both locally and abroad.
