FASHION: TOP 5 LOOKS OF PARIS HAUTE COUTURE, SPRING 2019

Haute Couture. Big, beautiful and largely excessive. Always brilliant. These are our top 5 beauty moments.

JEAN PAUL GAULTIER

These crimped, voluminous centre part styles complimented an Oriental story by the sea. Eighties (hair) vibes strong.

BALMAIN

It was extra terrestrial excellence at Balmain. Models’ hair finger-swept back and blasted with white coloured spray (we assume). A seamless colour scheme from brow to hairline.

CHANEL

It was ‘the higher the hair the closer to God’ at Chanel. A futuristic spin on the beehive evident in a jagged edge.

ARMANI PRIVÉ

It was all about the flapper ‘cap’ at Armani Privé. From a distance it could be a wet-look, alas, hair takes a backseat. Inspirational all the same. `

VALENTINO

Closed by Naomi Campbell, the Valentino spring couture show was indeed theatrical with a weeping Celine Dion and feathers for (eye) lashes. Hair was slicked back and subdued. A notable beauty moment nonetheless.
