On Monday night over 300 members of the hairdressing public, media and VIP guests were invited to join the TONI&GUY Artistic Team at the inaugural presentation of their highly anticipated 50/50 Collection.

Sydney’s Carriageworks, a venue synonymous with fashion and raw artistry, provided a perfect stage for the Global Superbrand to present a truly inspirational collection of directional hairdressing techniques, executed with absolute benchmark precision and creative flair.

Captured within the collection title, 50/50 was a celebration of TONI&GUY’S past 50 years of inspirational, trend defining and fashion led hairdressing. Whilst the collection looked firmly into the future with an eclectic mix of inspirations from the TONI&GUY International Artistic team who worked to create the ten definitive cut and colour techniques for 2013/14, this collection was indefinitely retrospective, with each of the ten looks referencing historic iconic images of past collections.

Alongside the cool and commercial cut and colour techniques within 50/50, TONI&GUY’s signature Avant Garde presentation was nothing short of ingenious, with a plethora of carefully constructed hair mats molded into intricate mohhawks and towers of sculptural hair magic.

National Creative Director for TONI&GUY Katy Reeve who led the presentation of infamously seamless stagecraft was firm in her message of an inclusive industry celebration.

“We are extremely proud of our heritage at TONI&GUY and want to be able to share the celebration of our 50 years with all hairdressers. It is an honour to be able to stand on stage with a team that delivers work that is so carefully considered and professionally communicated. Here’s to another ½ century. In the words of Toni Mascolo, ‘this is just the beginning’.”

Sponsors included the recently appointed and exclusive Official Haircare Product for London Fashion Week label.m, a true validation of the brands broader commitment to an innovative and education driven product range. As TONI&GUYs professional partner, Wella supported the event and also provided a sneak peek into groundbreaking technology within their new product innovation, Color id. The Napoleon Perdis Creative Team provided a picture perfect make up palette and Showpony Hair Extensions demonstrated their versatility to aid the creation of infinite shape and from.

“I am immensely proud to share a stage with the Artistic Team. They all work so hard not just to deliver the education message on stage, but for hours and hours in preparation for the tour. If we can insight motivation in other hairdressers to do things a little differently and have a fresh and directional approach then we have delivered on our vision for training and education also” Dennis Langford Managing Director TONI&GUY Australia
