A year in the making this partnership will focus on finding new and innovative ways to interconnect salon, spa and barber businesses with prospective clients.

A new frontier of hair salon technology has arrived as leading salon software provider Shortcuts announced it’s partnership with tech masters Google.

Google has single-handedly shaped the way that we communicate globally; the tech giants’ knowledge and expertise regarding various business sectors has been paramount to it’s success.

Seeing an ultimate potential for growth in the hair and beauty industry; the team at Google reached out to leading salon software providers Shortcuts, to bring about a seismic shift in the salon industry.

A year in the making this partnership will focus on finding new and innovative ways to interconnect salon, spa and barber businesses with prospective clients.

With the exponential growth of more than 30 million consumers per quarter using Google to source beauty-related information, this collaboration will help salons to promote their business further and form an online presence using tools like Google My Business, Google Adwords and search engine optimisation techniques.

Jo Burgess, Co-Founder and VP of Evolution at Shortcuts said this of the partnership, “What I love most is simply being able to help people. Whether it’s finding new ways for a salon owner promote their business, or helping someone find a new hairdresser, it’s exciting to think what impact the work we are doing will have on people’s lives.

One exciting feature they will roll out is Reserve with Google, integrating with Shortcuts online booking feature and enabling customers to book instantaneously through google.

“In the United States you can already book a table at your favourite restaurant straight from Google, so why not your next haircut? It makes perfect sense, and we are excited to be able to bring this technology to Australian salons for the first time,” said Jo.

By partnering, these two global technology powerhouses will spearhead digital innovation in the Beauty and Hair industry.

Salons will be equipped with an arsenal of tools to implement growth in this new digital era while gaining further insights into consumer habits and trends all at the click of a button.
