SNEAK PEEK: INSIDE SHERIDAN ROSE SHAW’S MAJOR SALON EXPANSION

Sheridan Rose Shaw – or Mama West, as you may know her – is currently in the midst of the expansion of the century, growing her 140sqm 12 chair space to a 336sqm 20+ chair space in the heart of Footscray. MAMAWEST 2.0 will be half salon, half creative space offering homage to photography, content creation, education, meditation, events bringing creatives together for more reasons that one.
“336 sqm space of creative space may seem scary for some, but for me, i couldn’t see past it,” explains Sheridan of what drew her to such an ambitious project. “Half of it felt too small, and pretty much ALL of it felt insane – but that’s just the kind of person I am!”
“A mentor said, if everyone knew what it was really gonna take, no one would do it. We’ve pivoted slightly from the original plan and have worked on transforming approximately 1/4 of the salon into a creative space offering photography, content creation; education, meditation, events and bringing creatives together for every reason under the sun.”
“I’ve got a vision and a mission, and I just know in my heart that it’s going to be the best thing that has hit the WEST!

Here, we take you inside the beauty and bedlam of making your dream expansion a reality with Sheridan’s projection of what the space will look like via digital plans.
