PARIS FASHION WEEK: Wella Professionals for Issey Miyake

“There was no specific brief for this show, instead I responded to the collection and formed an idea of how I would like this girl to look,” said Eugene Souleiman of yet another of his directional, creative looks at Paris Fashion Week, this time for Issey Miyake AW 15/16. “The clothes are light, airy and voluminous and the colours are girly and pretty, so I felt that the look needed a smaller, severe and compact head of hair with an explosion of texture at the back.”

The hair is strong and powerful, slightly aerodynamic, with a strict Victorian feel. Here the historical reference that provides the foundation of the style is made modern and high tech with contrasting finishes. Graphic and wet look on the top and sides, the back is super dry and softly textured. Said Eugene of his inspiration, “We first experimented with crimping last season, which forced me to rethink an old technique, shaking off the 80s connotations and finding new ways to make the effect look beautiful and tasteful.”

We swear we aren’t biased, but this is one of our favourite looks from Paris Fashion Week and we can’t get enough of the images below, no matter how many times we look at them…
