It’s the first all-female team in FAME history, and we could not have asked for a more authentic collective of women to represent this milestone moment. Each wonderfully unique, they have banded together as one powerful crew with a common hunger for knowledge, growth, and a really good time. Their FAME journey is in full swing with a swag of career-changing experiences already ticked. Here, we chat words of advice for upcoming FAME contestants, product discovery and the last time their mind was officially blown.

SHERIDAN ROSE SHAW

TJ: What does being a part of the FAME Team mean to you personally and professionally?

SR: I feel a deep sense of pride to have had the courage to go through the audition process and make it to top 4. It feels like I’m living out my dream life. There’s nothing more rewarding than having a goal and achieving it!

TJ: Have you had any ‘mind blown’ moments yet? If so, what was it?

SR: OMG TOO MANY TO CHOOSE FROM! Perhaps the moment my dreams became tangible goals within my reach (so much more than before this experience). I am feeling limitless!

TJ: Words of advice for those entering this year.

SR: I was so close to sitting out as   I was afraid of the feelings that would come with the audition process. It was hands down the best day of my career. Get outside your comfort zone, everything you’ve ever dreamed of is on the other side of it!

TJ: New product you have discovered since joining FAME?

SR: CAN’T PUT MY DYSON TOOLS DOWN! Obsessed with the DYSON PRO Hairdryer!

TJ: If you could walk in the shoes of one hairdresser for a day, who would it be?

SR: I’m going to say MAJOOR MOON! Not only for his celebrity clientele and colourful skillsets, but just to be wearing one of his outfits, hehe.

TJ: Currently reading/watching/listening to?

SR: Just finished the entire MAFS 23 season and it’s my guilty pleasure … don’t judge me!

GEORGIE BOOLS

TJ: What does being a part of the Fame team mean to me personally and professionally?!

GB: It’s such an honour to be considered as one of four Australian hairdressers to represent this incredible team. This has been my dream opportunity (since the beginning of my career 16-years ago). For me, it presents the opportunity to push and grow to my full potential personally and professionally – exploring parts of my personality and extending knowledge in both brand building and all aspects of hair.

TJ: Have you had any ‘mind blown’ moments so far?

GB: Our day with Jack! The way he amalgamates visions to create a masterpiece is just incredible!

TJ: Words of advice for those entering Fame this year?

GB: The process of entering can be daunting but the reward far outweighs any feelings of fear. Being a part of the live audition day was the biggest highlight of my career to date, the buzz in the room was epic.

My advice would be to never give up, always ask for feedback, really listen to what our amazing industry mentors have to say and work on that for the following year.  Believe in yourself as you really will thank yourself for it.

TJ: New product you have discovered since joining FAME?

GB: The Dyson Airwrap and all the incredible attachments it comes with!

TJ: If you could walk in the shoes of one hairdresser for a day, who would it be?

GB: Lyndal Salmon. To live a day with her wildly creative mindset, eye for colours, shapes and textures, exceptional cutting skills and techniques, sectioning patterns … and fricking cool fashion! Icon!

TJ: Currently reading/watching/listening to?

GB: A new album by an artist very special to me, City & Colour.

KARLIE ROBERTS

TJ: What does being a part of the FAME Team mean to you personally and professionally?

KR: Personally, its given me an amazing opportunity to make new connections to likeminded people. Professionally it’s an amazing opportunity to learn new skills, help build my personal brand, and discover my true path within hairdressing.

TJ: Highlight so far?

KR: The JOURNAL shoot! It was an amazing opportunity to work with Richi Grisillo and see the behind the scenes of an editorial photoshoot, particularly how everyone works together to create beautiful art.

TJ: Have you had any ‘mind blown’ moments yet? If so, what was it?

KR: There’s been so many! One is around creating social content – I have learnt so many tips behind reel making, taking the best possible photos, the nitty gritty of insights and using that information to build your platform.

TJ: Words of advice for those entering this year?

KR: Just go for it! We can all experience imposter syndrome, but you learn so much about yourself in the process and the skills day was honestly the most fun day of my career! Don’t be afraid sometimes you just have to say ‘yolo’ and reach for your dreams.

TJ: New product you have discovered since joining FAME?

KR: Davroe texture clay! I’m absolutely loving using it on both short and long hair to help enhance texture in the hair.

TJ: If you could walk in the shoes of one hairdresser for a day, who would it be?
