There was no rest for some of Australia’s best hairdressers and salon owners as they attended a L’Oreal Professionnel Hair Insights Forum off the back of the Australian Hair Fashion Awards on Monday the 11th of April.
Guests were eased into the seminar with a conversational-style presentation of the hairstyles from the AHFA runway show from the previous night. Damien Rinaldo dissected the looks he directed with his team of L’Oréal Professionnel artists, which were recreated for the morning presentation. Focusing on the sleek runway ponytails Damien and the team discussed the four sectioning techniques, tips for creating stronger shapes and the amazing tapestry design that was 18 months in the making.
Attention was brought to the importance of leaving egos behind when working on a project such as runway show or photoshoot, and the effect a positive atmosphere can have on the end result. The seminar focused on the relationship between artistry and business, providing vital guidance to salon owners regarding the daily operations of a hairdressing salon, the process of artistic creations and the financial and creative goals of a salon.
Attendees were no doubt provided with invaluable knowledge and advice across all spectrums of the hairdressing game, from guest speakers Naomi Simson – Redballon Founding Director, Ann-Maree Mason – General Manager of Oscar Oscar Salons and Damien Rinaldo – AHFA Hairdresser of the Year 2015.
