Calling all hairdressing apprentices in Australia! Intercoiffure Australia has just launched its GOAT 23 Apprentice Competition with a new open category. This exciting competition, now in its third year, aims to showcase the skills and creativity of hairdressing apprentices across the country.
The competition has three categories: First-year Styling (member salons), Second and Third-year Cut and Colour (member salons), and the new Open category, which is open to all apprentices from both member and non-member salons. The Open category will challenge participants to create a “makeover transformation” and is a fantastic opportunity for apprentices to showcase their creativity and skills.
The competition will be judged by an impressive panel of experts from L’Oreal Professionnel Australia, Intercoiffure Guillaume Fondation Paris, Intercoiffure Mondial, Intercoiffure Oceania, and selected member and Australia and New Zealand Hairdressers of the Year. The winners of each category will receive a complimentary place in the exclusive ‘L’Oréal Professionnel Styling Artistry” day session or ‘L’Oréal Professionnel Colour 1.0” day session, held in their home state, with a total value of up to $775 inc GST (excluding travel and other expenses).
To enter, participants must shoot a video in-salon during the entry period from Monday 13 March to Friday 14 April, which is a maximum of 30 seconds in duration. Music and editing are permitted, but special effects or text are not allowed. Participants must then post their entry directly to Instagram using the relevant category hashtag and other specified tags. The example entry will be posted on Instagram as a guide on Monday, 13 March.
Terrina Brown, Intercoiffure Australia Artistic Director, said that the competition has worked incredibly well over the past two years and has reached many non-members through Instagram. Therefore, they have opened up the competition to provide all hairdressing apprentices an exciting opportunity to participate in the Instagram competition, designed just for them.
