EVENTS: WHY YOU SHOULD VISIT SALON INTERNATIONAL IN 2019

It’s the undisputed mecca for hair… bringing hairdressers the world over to ExCel, London for three unmissable days of inspiration, education and industry networking. (That and a party or two for good measure…) Returning for another round in 2019, this year’s roster features an awe-inspired line up of headline acts, salon seminars and a jam-packed exhibition hall to boot – making it the PERFECT opportunity for salon owners, hairdressers and apprentices to learn from some of the best names in hair whilst perusing the latest brands and product innovations on offer. Ahead of Salon International (less than two months and counting!) we’re rounding up 7 of the key reasons to visit in 2019. Get those calendars ready.

FREE LIVE STAGES

With FOUR live stages (that are FREE to attend with your Salon International entrance ticket) you’re guaranteed to find a session (or ten!) to peak your interest or specialty. View the latest trends and techniques in cut/colour/styling from across the globe at the HJ stage, sharpen your skills in men’s barbering at the Modern Barber Stage, hear from the hairdressing world’s next generation at the New Talent Stage or bask in the knowledge of the British Fellowship’s key artistic teams at The Fellowship for British Hairdressing Stage. The choice is yours.

EDUCATIONAL SALON SEMINARS

As if FREE sessions weren’t enough… Salon International gives event-goers the chance to take their learning a step further with a lineup of dedicated Salon Seminars led by a handful of industry experts. Delivered in a relaxed, up-close-and-personal environment, these seminars are the ideal place to hone your skills in a number of key areas, equipping you with real world industry knowledge and takeaway techniques to enhance your salon services. With sessions by Patrick Cameron, Sofie ‘Staygold’ Pok and both the Mahogany and Trevor Sorbie Artistic teams, you’d better secure your spot quick.

SALON LIVE SHOWCASES

Yet ANOTHER key highlight for Salon International ’19? The ever-prestigious Salon Live lineup, which again hosts more than one headliner across its bursting artist schedule. Kicking off Saturday 5th October (London time…) each live offering brings with it a stellar headline act, countless trend insights and a host of new techniques plus more inspiration than you could possibly conceive of. We kid you not. Check out the full show breakdown below:

  • Sassoon Academy – celebrating their 65th year, the Sassoon Academy will re-imagine a number of iconic looks, each exhibiting their trademark craftsmanship, technique and timeless creativity.
  • SACO Academy – led by International Creative Director Richard Ashforth, the Saco Haircare and Academy team will present their newest hair collections, demonstrating innovative techniques for cut and colour live on stage.
  • Rush Hair & Beauty – an entity all of its own… the 2019 Rush Live show will see the group push a plethora of creative boundaries, showcasing their looks, techniques, ideas and inspiration across one inspirational afternoon.

Artists for 2019 include Hooker & Young, the Rainbow Room International Art Team and Schwarzkopf Global Ambassadors Tyler Johnston and Lesley Jennison.

THE ALTERNATIVE HAIR SHOW

Debuting at Salon International for the very first time, the 38th annual Alternative Hair Show offers an immersive evening of unparalleled creativity, platforming a vast number of local and international artists from across the hair sphere. Drawing cues from this year’s theme ‘Parody’, each act promises to be more dynamic than its predecessor with presentations spanning cut & colour, avant garde and men’s creative hair categories. The best part? All show proceeds will benefit the Alternative Hair Charitable Foundation which aids in the fight against Leukaemia. To learn more or make a donation, visit: alternativehair.org.

THE EXHIBITION FLOOR

It wouldn’t be a Salon International without a buzzing exhibition floor and this year’s offering looks set to be no exception. The perfect place to shop new brands, get up close and personal with the latest tools and product innovations… and see up-to-the-minute education from brand ambassadors in an intimate, questions-welcomed environment, the exhibition floor provides a perfect opportunity to peruse a number of different brands in one dynamic space, and to learn more about the ranges you’d like to stock in-salon. It’s also a great chance to take advantage of some of Salon International’s exclusive show-only special prices and discount offers… so be sure to keep your eyes peeled!
