EVENTS: HAIR EXPO RELEASES FULL PROGRAM

I’m planning my session to be a treat for the senses; arousing, absorbing and mind-opening. I want to get the message across to the audience to never close your mind to an idea – no matter how unlikely or impossible it seems.

The Southern Hemisphere’s biggest hair event is returning to Melbourne in 2018, taking over the city, and our imaginations!

With world-class talent, education and exhibitors gracing the Hair Expo floor, the three-day long weekend event will be taking centre stage from June 9 to 11 at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.

The UK’s Angelo Seminara is excited to be heading up an all-star international line-up.

The ‘Master’ will host an intimate, all-day workshop and a seminar over the weekend, giving hairdressers a glimpse into the unique skills and creative vision behind his game changing artistry.

Of the educating opportunity, Seminara says, “I get such a charge coming up with something new and original that pleases my eyes, mind, body and soul and really look forward to sharing my ways with my fellow professionals in Oz.”

“I’m planning my session to be a treat for the senses; arousing, absorbing and mind-opening. I want to get the message across to the audience to never close your mind to an idea – no matter how unlikely or impossible it seems.”

Alongside him, the United States’ Tabatha Coffey and Candy Shaw will also be on hand to provide lucky guests with one-on-one coaching opportunities, hands-on workshops and creative sessions.

A masterclass by R+Co’s Creative Director/Co-founder Howard McLaren will showcase a multitude of techniques, from razor cutting to gendered styling.

The collaborative experience that is ‘A day in the life 2018’ by Joey Scandizzo of Joey Scandizzo Salon and Marie Uva of UVA Salon promises to showcase signature cuts, colours and styling while playing up their always present passion for hair, fashion and life.

Lorna Evans brings her love of long hair styling to the stage, and her Sunday Session will showcase how to incorporate this into effective and achievable Bridal looks to tap into a billion dollar industry.

Is any educational event complete without Sharon Blain? The internationally acclaimed educator is sharing a three-hour, hands-on and behind the scenes look at the production of ‘Nouveau’, her 2018 signature collection.

Men’s style is a huge drawcard for this year’s Expo, with ‘Barberland’ drawing the likes of Jules Tognini, talking all things tailoring; styles and cuts to match personalities, cultures and lifestyle.

Not to be outdone, Matrix Playground is bringing their A-game to the weekend.

Matrix Artists Stevie English, Kobi Bokshish and Paul Ricupito will be hosting a Look ‘n’ Learn session to inspire creativity and explore new worldwide trends.

This puts them in good stead to headline Sunday Night’s GenNext Gala, where productions and stage performances also include GenNext teams from Project NZ, UK Fame Team and Ibiza Hair, amongst others.

On the ever-important business end of things, leading customer service trainer Julie Piantadosi will be empowering attendees, no matter their employment, to take the lead in their respective fields through effective communication.

Select attendees will also be able to take part in an advanced session on balancing life and business.

For those who need some confidence on utilising Instagram, Kylie Lewis can help; unlocking content marketing capabilities through her workshop, ‘The Foundations of Social Media Success’.

With competitions, workshops, shows and seminars across the entire weekend culminating in Monday night’s Hair Expo Awards Gala, this is an inspirational weekend not to be missed!
