Last week, Sustainable Salons Australia participated in a ponytail donation event organised by students from the Wenona Girls High. In total, eight teachers from Tafe Sydney NSW were gracious enough to donate their hair cutting expertise and services toward the event; ensuring the girls who donated their ponytails left with a beautiful contemporary hair cut.

Thirty four brave girls stepped forward to donate their beautiful, uncoloured hair to this cause. Sustainable Salons Australia collected 139 ponytails in total which will be donated to The Variety Charity so they can be turned into wigs for children who have lost their hair due to alopecia, cancers, and other illnesses.

Following the huge success of this event, Sustainable Salons Australia looks forward to partnering on other unique ideas that promote sustainability and charity within Australia’s hairdressing industry. This is just the start of a whole new way of giving back and making a difference for the future.
