It was an unmissable day of award winning creativity and world class education, all in the name of raising money for Giant Steps Australia. This week, the eagery anticipated Come Together event gathered hairdressers together for a day of learning and ideas with all proceeds going to Giant Steps – the Australian organisation bringing treatment and education to children with autism.
Presented by A.H Salon in conjunction with THE JOURNAL magazine (and sponsored by Foil Me, Redken and Haircare Group), the day-long event will lift the lids on some of Australia’s most intriguing minds. With a focus on cut, colour, styling and digital growth, there is something for all artists, at all levels.
“The idea was to create a world class line-up of educators at an affordable price so that everyone who wants to be a better hairdresser in 2024 could attend,” says event director and owner of A.H and Emma Dean salons, CJ Morello. “We wanted to create an event in which all proceeds went to charity – one that’s very close to my heart, Giant Steps Australia.
The connection to Giant Steps hinges from CJ’s direct connection to the cause.
“As a dad to two autistic little ones (who require 24/7 high-needs care), I’ve seen first-hand the life changing work Giant Steps do. The industry response has been simply overwhelming, and I cannot thank our headlining artists enough who are each donating their time for the greatest possible impact.”
With a stellar line up of industry superstars taking to the stage across the day, it was an unmissable event that enriched the mind, heart and creative spirit.
On the lineup for the day was Natalie-Anne taking on MC duties, Belinda Mills chatting all things social media and how to make your presence count, Michael Kelly and Mon McMahon demonstrating their colouring expertise on stage and Freda Rossidis taking the crowd through four of her favourite looks she created for this year’s key European Fashion Week runways.
Here, we take you inside the amazing day that was. Will we see you at Come Together 2025?
