CAMP: (MORE) NOTES ON THE 2019 MET GALA

More of our favourite moments from the pink carpet. Because who doesn’t love a good old fashioned camp-off.

Kim Kardashian

A Met Gala regular, Kim K wowed in a wet-look custom Mugler dress that evidently fit like a glove… her (well…) ample assets bejewelled with crystal detailing. Kim paired the slick look with wet and wavy locks (courtesy of celeb hairstylist Chris Appleton) and a dramatic smoky eye. Perfection.

Priyanka Chopra

In a stunning avant-garde Dior gown, the new Mrs. Jonas commanded attention. Her fairytale inspired look featured a feathery silver-and-pastel gown and flowing cape paired with a caged crown – that sat atop her regally curled mane. The look was completed with frosted brows and lashes, giving us a hint of Glinda the Good Witch.

Elle Fanning

With an, I Dream of Jeanie inspired hairdo – and the campiest nail details to hit the pink carpet – it girl Elle Fanning well and truly made her mark with this bright and youthful look.

Dua Lipa

The pop princess became a queen… hitting the pink carpet for the first time in this 90s-era Versace gown and boots combo. Clearly a fan of the age old adage ‘the higher the hair the closer to god’, the diva reached new and heavenly heights with her towering tresses.

Ashley Graham

Taking the hair embellishment trend to new levels of amazing, model Ashley Graham proved there is no such thing as too many hair accessories. Part of this years’ Gucci Gang, Graham owned the pink carpet sporting the brand’s insignia and traditional green and red colours.

Hailey Bieber

Mrs. Bieber caused a quite the stir with her rather daring and very visible designer G-string. The millennial pink gown from Alexander Wang was pared back with an elegant ponytail and black velvet bow; a classical contrast to the risqué gown.

Winnie Harlow

Striking a pose on the pink carpet, Harlow kicked things up a notch in a gilded gown with cutaway detailing – and a thigh-high slit that showed off her enviable pins.  The model turned heads with an outrageous feathered shawl; her blonde cropped hair topped with a peacock inspired headpiece.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Model mogul Rosie Huntington-Whiteley showed off her supermodel credentials on the pink carpet, in this shimmering white gown. The stunning halter-neck was paired with a blush pink feathered stole that hung from her lithe frame flowing behind her into a statement train. While not strictly camp, Rosie’s elegant chignon was by far a mane moment.

Emma Roberts

Pretty in pink, Roberts glowed in this Giambattista Valli Couture dress. The tule dream paired with Irene Neuwirth jewels and a floral crown that secured her golden hair, made for an ethereal and subtly dramatic look befitting of the pink carpet.

Candice Swanepoel

Every inch the supermodel she is, the former Victoria Secret Angel stunned in an Atelier Prabal Gurung pale blue silk gown. With her blonde strands slicked into a high pony, the model made a statement with three locks shaped into infinity symbols on her forehead.
