BEAUTY: Estée Lauder Companies Breast Cancer Campaign

#TimeToEndBreastCancer

October marks breast cancer awareness month and the launch of Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Campaign.

The campaign facilitates the much needed raising of funds and awareness for breast cancer; now the most commonly diagnosed form of the disease – with one woman globally diagnosed every 19 seconds.

This year, the company’s breast cancer awareness campaign is the universal call to action: it’s #TimeToEndBreastCancer.

It’s premise: time is is finite, precious and may take on a whole new meaning when one is faced with a life-threatening illness such as breast cancer. This is a global issue, no matter your origin, age, lifestyle or values; a disease knows no bounds and is indiscriminate.

With this year’s campaign, the Estée Lauder Companies stand firm in their commitment – it’s #TimeToEndBreastCancer; time to further fund medical services, research and education, to close the gap on a cure and give more time to patients worldwide to live healthier, happier lives.

Estée Lauder Companies have been prevalent in the fight against cancer for over 25 years.

Founder Evelyn H. Lauder co-created the iconic Pink Ribbon and started The Estée Lauder CompaniesBreast Cancer Campaign in 1992; an initiative committed to inspiring hope in millions of people touched by breast cancer annually.

A year later, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), was founded as a non-profit organisation, generating funding dedicated solely to breast cancer research.

To date, the Campaign has raised more than $76 million worldwide supporting over 60 breast cancer organisations, spanning over 70 countries globally.

Breast Cancer Campaign Ambassador, actress Elizabeth Hurley commented: “I’m fortunate to witness first-hand the immense impact of The Campaign worldwide.

From a woman telling me, she got a mammogram because she heard our important message about early detection, to see the impact that the research we are funding has on science, patient care and treatment all bringing us closer to a cure.

Advancing breast cancer research and supporting education and medical services has offered hope to so many battling the disease.

Breast cancer truly affects us all, and I am so proud to be a part of this global movement that continues to bring us to hope for a world without breast cancer.

The fundraising goal for this year’s Breast Cancer Campaign is an ambitious US$8 million.

It is something that can never be done by any one person; it has to be done by a group,” says Evelyn.

A selection of the Estée Lauder Companies beauty brands (including Aveda, Bobbi Brown, Clinique and La Mer) join the campaign’s fund raising efforts through the release of limited edition pink ribbon products.

A portion of the sale of all limited edition pink ribbon products will be donated to various breast cancer initiatives across the globe.

Locally, brands from the magnate’s beauty portfolio have also joined force to release a limited edition Beauty Box for the Garvan Institute of Medical Research (home to one of the most renowned breast cancer research teams in Australia).

The Breast Cancer Campaign Beauty Box retails at $149 (worth $215) with all profits from the sale of each Beauty Box going to support breast cancer research at Garvan.
