Sunday April 10th 2016 will see the Australian Hair Fashion Awards (AHFA’s) reinforce their position as Australia’s largest and most successful independent hairdressing awards programme and the ultimate synergy between hair, fashion and culture with a gala awards celebration at the iconic Luna Park in Sydney.

Following a sell out 2015 event co-hosted by Editor in Chief of Marie Claire Jackie Frank and Australia’s Next Top Model mentor Didier Cohen, the 2016 gala night is set to maintain a strong connection to the hairdressing community and all the conventions of a star studded soiree.

Now in their 24th year, the AHFA’s will continue to greet a popular throng of celebrity guests on the red carpet and host a celebrity entertainer to be announced later this year, following an electrifying performance by Samantha Jade in 2015.

Proudly partnered by global hair fashion leaders L’Oréal Professionnel, the AHFA’s will continue to cement the crucial interplay between hair, fashion and beauty industries, working cohesively to propel Australian Hair Fashion to the forefront of the global stage.

The awards night will see Australia’s leading hair, fashion, make-up and photography experts as well as iconic hair and beauty products and businesses all compete for one of the 22 awards, including the coveted 2016 AHFA Australian Hairdresser of the Year.

Whilst AHFA Business and Product categories will be judged by leading Australian brand / business experts and Beauty Media respectively, all photographic categories will be judged in London by top British Hairdressers including Errol Douglas MBE and Trevor Sorbie MBE.

Creative Director of M Division David Mannah is delighted to be hosting his third event at the helm. “Together with L’Oréal Professionnel we are thrilled to be hosting this event. The AHFA’s seeks to provide a unique platform for the hair fashion community to collectively be recognised for their invention, creativity and vision. It is a celebration of one of the most exciting industries, spearheaded by artists who are responsible for representing Australian Hair Fashion on the world stage; it is a reflection of our belief in their talent and our commitment to drive visibility of their creative prowess” says David Mannah, Creative Director M Division.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with The Australian Hair Fashion Awards for 2016. The event shares and celebrates what L’Oréal Professionnel is all about, supporting outstanding talent in the industry, incredible hair and it’s intrinsic link to fashion. This event is a must enter for the Australian Hair community. The international judging panel represents the very best of the world’s leading hairdressers and to be recognised and nominated as a finalist in any category is an incredible achievement. To win, well that’s what dreams are made of,” says Ian Harman, General Manager for L’Oréal Professionnel.
