Crown Tower’s iconic VILLA 8888 set the scene for the 2022 AAFW debut of Michael Lo Sordo’s latest collection, in a quite literally heightened display of unbridled glamour perfectly capturing the essence of this iconic brand.

When sheer opulence is at every turn and within every garment, it stands to reason that the accompanying hair and beauty must also reflect this. Who better than Davroe to step in as Official Hair Sponsor and ensure that this was the case?

An ode to Australian glamour – sleek, sexy and never too much – the wet looks crafted by Hair Director Madison Voloshin and Davroe Team acted as the perfectly pared-back extension to Lo Sordo’s glamorous creations.

“This collection is all about embracing magic hour, desirability and celebrating a moment back to glamour,” says Lo Sordo of the looks presented.

Of the hair direction, Madison looked to this sleek and sexy approach and interpreted through the styles crafted on the 18 models walking. “I took inspiration from Michael Lo Sordo’s collection,” he explained. “His suits are strong, and his dresses are sexy. The hair emulated this – sleek, sexy and strong”.

“To create the looks, hair was middle parted on each girl and painted down with a mixture of CONSTRUCT, SMOOTHING BALM & ENDS REPAIR on the roots. Two tendrils were left out at the front sideburn, and hit with some REVIVE for textured movement. Finally, ENDS REPAIR was used on the ends with liberal sprays of Ultimatum to set the look.”

The final word in sophistication, and – quite literally – one of the highest points seen yet at AAFW22.
