With entries for the 2020 Australian FAME Team opening in a matter of days (October 8th to be exact…) we thought it high time you got the low down on what it takes to be a part of the awesome foursome.

Have you got talent dripping from your fingertips? Are you a master of the mane? Are you a go-getter with ambition to succeed?

If yes is your answer to the above, and you are under 35, then you need look no further than the Australian FAME Team!

While FAME does shine a spotlight on the incredible talent it yields, it is not merely about fame per se, rather standing for The Fellowship Academy of Merit and Excellence.

Launched by the Fellowship for British Hairdressing in the UK, FAME is an opportunity for young hairdressers to access training and education beyond their wildest dreams.

Jumping across the pond to Australian the program was relaunched into the exciting, inspirational and unique format we know today. The annual competition that is the FAME Team is a celebration of new and noteworthy hairdressing talents from across Australia.

Here the doors of opportunity are opened wide for the four super-talented individuals chosen each year to receive once in a lifetime access to the best hair personalities in the business and direct insights into their industry experience.

With past mentors including Renya Xydis, Richard Kavanagh, Laren McCowan, Jules Tognini, Craig Smith and Damien Rinaldo in Australia and Trevor Sorbie, Angelo Seminara, Zoe Irwin, Tyler Johnston, Adam Reed and Sassoons in the UK (to name but a few) the wealth of knowledge to be gained is impossible to quantify.

The life-changing program for mentorship, education and travel showers its participants with the best that this incredible industry of ours has to offer.

With stage opportunities to present their now award-winning talents (thanks to Hair Expo and Salon International), the program gives its delegates the experience to learn new skills, build incredible contacts and forge friendships like no other.

Something the reigning FAME Team have experienced this year. The team have jetted off on their international date with destiny; a trip of a lifetime seeing them show their talents in LA, NYC, London and Hannover!

Selection is based on the individual merit of each entrant no matter the salon, state or brand affiliation.

KEY DATES

• Entries open Tuesday 8th October
• Entries close 5 pm Friday 10th January 2020 at 5 pm – late entries will not be considered
• Finalists announced February 2020
• Round 2 Judging will take place in Sydney 17th February 2020
• The 2020 Australian FAME Team will be announced at the 2020 Australian Hair Fashion Awards on Sunday 19th April.
