Off the back of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week New York, the Haircare Australia New York Study Tour also took place from the 3rd– 12th of September 2014.
Over the course of the week, nine lucky stylists were given the-once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience all that New York City and Mercedes Benz Fashion Week had to offer. With each day came a different experience, and the group were given the chance to work with some of Haircare Australia’s Prestige Brands.
Moroccanoil proudly supported the tour by providing an exclusive workshop, led by Moroccanoil Creative Design Team Educators Kevin Hughes and Violet Sainsbury. The lucky group was given a private tour of Moroccnoil’s New York Head Quarters while the award-winning Moroccanoil team took each stylist through the most current looks being created backstage and seen on the runways of New York Fashion Week. The workshop was inspired by current trends, drawing on the skills of true masters as they recreated looks straight from the catwalk.
Moroccanoil Creative Design Team Educator Violet Sainsbury said the Pret-a-Porter was designed specifically for the Haircare Australia New York study tour: “It was a wonderful experience to host the Haircare Australia New York Study Tour at the Moroccanoil Academy. The class was designed specifically for the group to forecast trends for the upcoming show season and showcase our favourite looks direct from our runway shows whilst using the innovative line of Moroccanoil products exactly as we do backstage,” she said.
Staying at one of New York’s most prestigious hotels, The Standard Highline, the stylists were based in the heart of New York with the freedom to explore all that the city had to offer.
The New York Study Tour program is all about supporting local salons with relevant business, giving the opportunity to gain insight into international brands like Moroccanoil as well as learning from peers and industry leaders. The workshops aim to provide stylists with a unique and exclusive education experience beyond the salon.
