Wella Professionals have cemented their place in the hairdressing industry as a heavyweight to watch, and the same goes for their amazing talent. We’ve shined the spotlight on the individuals that carry the brands DNA through their salons, welcoming the next star to the stage: Danielle Barca.
TJ: How do you like to spend your days off?
DB: Relaxing on the beach, cocktail in hand!
TJ: If you weren’t a hairdresser, what career path would you take?
DB: I have never thought about anything beyond hairdressing, I feel so lucky to have found something that makes me so happy!
TJ: Describe your signature style (fashion and hair).
DB: Cleverly Effortless – Editorial is always my inspiration!
TJ: If you had a time machine, would you go back in time or visit the future?
DB: Back in time for sure, I’ve always felt like I was born in the wrong era!
TJ: If you could only hear one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
DB: All You Need is Love – The Beatles
TJ: What’s something everyone else loves that you secretly find overrated?
DB: Reality TV shows
TJ: Can you tell us about how you first got into hairdressing?
DB: I was inspired by my mum (who is a hairdresser) from as little as I can remember, so from the age of about 12 I was working part time in salons. Once I was old enough I started my apprenticeship and never looked back!
TJ: What is your favourite thing about the hair industry?
DB: I love how broad the hairdressing industry is, there are so many pathways and opportunities to grow. I love that it is ever evolving, so you’re constantly moving, creating, trying to crack the next trend.
TJ: Tell us about one of your career highlights.
DB: Winning the Young Talent National Gold Trend Vision Award is something I have strived for, for many years. To finally be awarded the gold was like a dream come true! Not to mention traveling to Berlin to compete on the world stage – the most amazing opportunity that one could have, the event was beyond anything I could have imagined!
TJ: What is your favourite style to create?
DB: Old-come-new, with an editorial feel. I love experimenting with different textures and creating new shapes.
TJ: If you could facilitate one change in the hair industry, what would it be?
DB: More industry events.
TJ: If you could leave our audience with one piece of advice, what would it be?
DB: Never give up!
TJ: What is your favourite thing about the brand?
DB: Hard to name one, but here’s a few; its innovation, from trend setting to products. The entire colour range; Illumina, Magma, etc. The creative opportunities such as Trend Vision, platforming artists and its connection with Sebastian Professional.
TJ: What is the most popular WELLA product and why?
DB: I think the whole EIMI range will be the most popular Wella products due to their natural nature but also effective results!
TJ: What does being a WELLA Professional stylist mean to you?
DB: Wella has been a part of my journey through hairdressing from the beginning. I want to take this opportunity to thank Wella for all of their support, I am proud to say that I am a WELLA Professional Stylist!
