TREND: SPRING CLEANING YOUR SKINCARE ROUTINE

Your ultimate guide to spring cleaning your beauty routine- both inside and out.

As the seasons shift, so too should your skincare routine. The arrival of spring and summer calls for a lighter, hydration-focused approach that keeps skin healthy, radiant, and protected. Two experts share their insights on how to refresh your routine- both inside and out.

Dr. Leanne Girgis, Founder of Innour, highlights the importance of supporting skin health at a cellular level. “From our mid-20s, our own collagen production starts to decline, and as a result, we begin to experience dull skin complexion, fine lines and wrinkles, sagging skin, weak and brittle hair and nails, poor gut function, and aching joints,” she explains.

Marine collagen, she says, is a powerful way to replenish what the body begins to lose. “Marine collagen specifically targets type 1 and 3 collagen in the body and provides the essential proteins needed to support healthy and efficient collagen production. Our marine collagen is hydrolysed, meaning it’s broken down into smaller collagen peptides that the body can easily recognise, absorb, and utilise to produce collagen.”

Enhanced with vitamin C, Innour’s formula is “supercharged for enhanced results,” offering benefits such as “improved skin hydration, elasticity, and clarity, stronger and healthier hair and nails, a strengthened gut lining, and better joint lubrication and mobility.”

For ease of use, Dr. Girgis notes, “With a high dosage and an efficient formula, just one dose a day is all you need. It’s hot and cold stable, meaning you can mix it into anything you like- water, coffee, tea, matcha, yogurt, smoothies, you can even bake with it. Plus, it tastes delicious thanks to natural flavouring from freeze-dried fruit, with no artificial colours, flavours, or fillers.”

On the clinical side, Elisa Osmo, Founder of Glow Medispa and Advanced Dermal Therapist, emphasises adjusting treatments with the seasons. “My ideal yearly routine would involve starting with more resurfacing and rejuvenating treatments in the cooler months to prepare the skin for a refreshed look come spring and summer. As we approach warmer months, I would then focus on maintenance treatments like LED therapy and brightening facials, while always ensuring a consistent SPF application to protect the skin post-treatment.”

She recommends hydrating facials, oxygen infusion facials, LED light therapy, enzyme peels, and skin needling, all of which “help replenish moisture, promote collagen production, and leave the skin plump, radiant, and refreshed.”

Whether it’s collagen support from within or targeted in-clinic treatments, a refreshed routine can ensure your skin looks and feels its best as the temperature rises.
