Q&A: RENDEZVOUS AVEC L’ORÉAL

The industry love continues as Rendezvous Avec L’Oréal Pro dives into the ideas and intel of yet another line-up of world class team artists slash savvy business owners.

The concept was created as an education piece to really push and inspire our next generation of hairdressers to visualise their potential from both a creative and business perspective, and continues here with L’Oréal Pros, Massimo Tirimacco (Zohair), Robert and Karen Bava (The Parlour Hair). Go inside the clients, colour and technology of these iconic industry heads.

TJ: Tell us a bit about your salon – location, style, expertise, demographic, etc.

MT: Zohair is an international, award winning salon located in Norwood – the Eastern suburbs of Adelaide. We pride ourselves on catering to a wide demographic across all facets of hairdressing, and offer high end, bespoke servicing that favours quality over quantity. One offering that is quite unique to Zohair, is that our Saturday’s are exclusive to weddings, styling and makeup.

TJ:  Why did you partner with LOréal Professionnel?

MT: L’Oreal Professionnel  has been a part of my journey from day one of my career, and I have felt at home ever since.

KB: I remember using L’Oréal Professionnel back in the Eighties … it was the first product I was ever introduced to!

TJ: How does LOréal Professionnel support your salon?

MT: Endlessly … particularly with the transition from our previous salon to our current  location. This is where I really felt  the genuine support.

KB + RB: The brand never slows down on development, and therefore even as our needs have evolved over the years as a salon and individual artists, L’Oréal Professionnel has everything we need. For this reason, it’s what we feel comfortable with, they always have our back.

TJ: How does LOréal Professionnel help you in education, specifically through their ACCESS program/education portal?

MT: Education has elevated so much in the last few years, it’s endless really. With the introduction of ACCESS, each member can  independently map out their education journey; ultimately creating a pathway of opportunity that speaks to their unique skills and objectives as an artist.

TJ: How does the brand aid your salon technologically?

MT: L’Oréal Professioinnel are industry leaders and therefore constantly evolving and improving the technology that defines them. Groundbreakers such as Metal Detox and the oil based delivery system Inoa are perfect examples.

TJ: How does the brand aid your salon branding/marketing?

KB + RB: The L’Oréal Professionnel brand comes with a sense of exclusivity … it’s a high end product with beautiful, French feeling campaigns that we’re able to leverage across our own brand channels. It’s an image the consumer can really relate to, and that also aspires to, which can only drive business through the salon doors.

TJ: How is the new Metal Detox impacting your colour business?

MT: Metal Detox is revolutionary, and has had a big impact in our salon due to its comprehensive, fast acting nature that ultimately enables us to achieve our goals without compromising the integrity of the hair. You know a product is successful when new and established guests are coming into the salon seeking out the service.

TJ: What business components, like salon management, salon training and leadership, are supported by LOréal Professionnel?

MT: At Zohair we are constantly evolving not only as artists but as customer service operators, also. L’Oréal Professionnel has helped us customise a consultation process exclusive to Zohair and designed to ensure consistent and cohesive performance across all staff members.

TJ: What are you looking forward to next with LOréal Professionnel?

MT: I am really looking forward to endless opportunities with the L’Oréal Professionnel  family. I love the culture and am super excited to be working with the brand and making great things happen together.

TJ:  What does being part of the LOréal Professionnel family mean to you?

MT: It’s been a journey to get where I am today, so it’s an honour to be a part of the L’Oréal Professionnel Artistic Group and the brand’s National Steampod Ambassador. I truly feel I am where I am supposed to be right now, and can’t for the growth that awaits me as a business professional and creative artist.
