Yet another blow to the industry events sector: Salon International have announced the unfortunate postponement of this years’ offering, in light of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and ensuing travel restrictions.
In a statement issued earlier this week, organisers announced the 2020 postponement of this year’s instalment; marking Salon International’s first hiatus since 1973.
An industry staple, the annual event beckons a host of hairdressers, salon professionals and international acts to London for three days of inspiration, education and networking.
An undisputed mecca for hair, Salon International boasts a jam-packed roster of headline acts, salon seminars and an exhibition hall featuring an array of professional brands.
It also provides a perfect opportunity for salon owners, hairdressers and apprentices to learn from some of the best names in hair whilst perusing the latest brands and innovations on offer.
Shares Executive Director of Hairdressers Journal, Jayne Lewis-Orr,
“When the UK Government gave exhibitions the ‘go’ date in July, we were very excited and worked tirelessly to create an environment that was safe and would allow us to provide the inspiration and education the show is renowned for.
However, that original announcement has not been matched with a practical commitment by the authorities; meaning that we may have been forced to cancel the October event at short notice.
We are not prepared to put our visitors or our exhibitors through unnecessary cost and inconvenience, with the genuine prospect of last-minute cancellation.”
Salon International will return in 2021, from October 16th – 18th at ExCeL London.
