This May, #HAIRDRESSERSUNITED brought a string of talented hairdressing professionals together under one digital roof for a (record breaking) 24 hour live stream.
A mass celebration of industry solidarity, the social-media powered event saw 41 artists (from across 19 countries) present an inspired lineup of educational, creative and skilled-based hair content; all of which leveraged participating artists’ combined 8.3 million followers.
Held across 24 hours, the Henkel hosted initiative took place across Facebook and Instagram, with partner platform YouTube providing additional creative content through allotted break intervals.
Segments covered a wide array of topics, from hair colouration (including blonding, balayage and blur techniques) creative up-do’s and braiding trends through to cutting work, styling and barber art.
A dynamic educational experience, #HairdressersUnited culminated nine of Henkel Beauty’s Care Professional brands, including Schwarzkopf Professional, Joico, and Alterna, with Australia’s own artists Natalie Anne and Travis Balcke leading the social charge.
In an industry first, the event was also recorded as a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ official attempt for the ‘longest online hair education seminar streamed over the internet’, with a total of 27 hours and 34 minutes of continuously live-streamed content.
Thus far, Fritz Henkel Stiftung has made a charitable donation of 100,000 euros to such platforms as the Red Cross and United Ways, with viewer donation total to be announced very soon. An achievement well and truly for the books (no pun intended).
