Exciting news: two winners have been announced for Hair Shots 2 The World’s first global competition.

Those talented two? Nicole Kae of A+H Salon (Sydney, Australia) and Nicole Pede of InStyle Salon & Spa (Ontario, Canada); both of whom beat  a number of talented hairdressers to secure the top spots, earning each an international collection release to hair media across the globe.

Open to hairdressers nationally and abroad, the inaugural competition saw entrants submit a collection of 3-6 images shot from the beginning of 2018 to present. Images were scored by an international judging panel including editors from Salon Magazine Canada, Images New Zealand, Frizer Slovenia and Red Mane Media UK.

Commenting on the calibre of this years’ entries, Hair Shots 2 The World’s Leanne Cutler shared, “The Hair Shots 2 The World team is really excited that hairdressers were super keen to enter the Global Competition this year and can now develop the competition further for 2020.”

Alongside winners, Hair Shots also granted Kylie Hayes of Moha Hairdressing (Dunedin, New Zealand) this year’s Merit Award, given the final twelve’s close scores. Leanne added that all finalist entries would be curated into a digital look book, giving each the kudos they deserve.

“I’m so incredibly excited to win this awesome opportunity, standing alongside so many amazing collections and stylists,” said Australia’s delegate Nicole Kae. “Inca Rising was one of my favourite collections I’ve worked on, as it took me out of my comfort zone.”

“It was one of those collections [in which] I knew people would love it or hate it,” she continued. I love working with different fabrics in the hair, and it was so fun exploring Peruvian culture, fashion and modernising it into the hair world.”
