Last night, on the eve of July 1, cult British beauty brand ghd launched their brand-new tech innovation ghd unplugged.

The brand’s first compact and cordless styler is not only portable and powerful, but also boasts ghd’s advanced dual-zone technology to maintain the optimum styling temperature of 185 across both plates. This game-changing tool is set to become a handbag hero for women globally, giving them the confidence of good hair days, anywhere and everywhere!

Q: What was your first impressions of the ghd Unplugged?

A: WOW. This is the big one. We’ve asked for this for SO long … Especially when you travel, work on fashion weeks and editorially. Plug it in, charge through the charger, and then it’s good to go. What it’s really incredible for is when we’re on a remote location without power, which is often. A dream for editorial and session hairdressers.

Q: Would you buy Unplugged for yourself? Would it make your life easier?

A: Oh god yeah, absolutely, I would be using this while I’m travelling, while I’m working, I just can’t wait to get my hand on one for my kit. This is it. We’ve been waiting 15 years for this.

A: That it’s USB charged, compact and portable. It’s great for those people who are flying a lot, airports, even just in the handbag to touch up after work pre-meetings or a night out – it’s so small you can literally store it in your handbag.

Q: As a stylist, when is a tool like Unplugged most useful?

A: When you’re on set, on a beach … even somewhere doing bridal hair. Power is no longer a necessity.

Q: How do you think consumers will react to Unplugged?

A: I think it will possibly break the market, and I hope that ghd has enough stock to get around!

A: Wow – I was shocked. It took me completely by surprise. Absolutely amazing, obviously we’ve been wanting something like this for a long time.

AL Absolutely! It’s going to be in my session kit and my salons. It’s going to make my clients’ lives much easier – absolutely.
