NEWS: GHD ANNOUNCE NEW ANZ CREATIVE TEAM ADDITIONS

Fortifying their stance as leaders in the professional sphere, ghd have today announced two new additions to their coveted creative lineup.

Joining a revered portfolio of talented creatives, ghd’s (equally talented) new recruits look set to make waves in both the professional and consumer markets – each bringing a plethora of skills, ideas and acumen to their roles as ghd ANZ Creative Team members.

First up? Reigning AHFA Digital Influencer of the Year and founder of globally lauded salon, Bixie Colour: Sheree Knobel (Australia) who joins Auckland’s own editorial maestro: Benjamin James of Ryder Salon (New Zealand). A dynamic duo indeed.

Of the new developments, ghd National Education Manager Grant Norton shares; “We, as a brand, are so lucky to be represented with so many of Australia and New Zealand’s best experts in the industry.

Our creative artists aren’t just trend-makers, they’re pioneers across salon, social, and education. We’re so excited to be working with them to inspire and educate hairdressers and consumers alike.”

The announcement follows the 2020 addition of industry legends Jules Tognini, Monique McMahon and Bronwyn Illingworth to the ghd roster.

“Bringing in some new faces this year, such as Jules, Monique, and Bronwyn has allowed us to have experts located all across ANZ, who we can collaborate with on creative projects and education initiatives,” continues Grant.

“Adding Sheree and Benjamin just made sense to us. They are incredible names in the industry and are highly respected. They have amazing attitudes and will add another level to the team across education and industry activations.”

“As hairdressers, we have the unique power to transform women’s confidence and lives through the power of a good hair day,” he adds. “We’re so thrilled to be working with such a stellar creative artist team to help us continue leading the industry in creative hair trends and our salon education offering.”

A creative tour de force, ghd’s iconic Creative Team has long featured a lineup of industry icons including Richard Kavanagh, Pauline McCabe, Uros Mikic, Mary Alamine, Brodie-Lee Tsiknaris, and Marie Uva. It also counts influencer extraordinaire Natalie Anne and creative artist Travis Balcke as within its illustrious ranks.

“Being a Creative Artist with ghd is really magical,” shares industry stalwart Richard Kavanagh. “I get to be a part of an incredible team of creatives with opportunities to work all across the industry and knowing I’m supported by a company with the best tools, warms my heart.”

A sentiment echoed by celebrity hairdresser, Marie Uva; “I love to work alongside like-minded people that are pushing the boundaries. People that have done so much in the industry and also to be able to showcase my work on that level in ANZ as well as globally.”

Commenting on her new role with ghd, Sheree Knobel (an expert colourist in her own right) shares, “I’m very honoured to be a part of a brand I’ve admired for years.”

Both a salon and editorial stylist, Benjamin adds, “There’s a lot I love about the brand, but for me it comes down to the people – working with a really efficient team and them putting their trust in me really means a lot; I’m really excited to create together.”

Congratulations to Sheree, Benjamin and the entire ghd ANZ team. We can’t wait to watch this creative journey unfold!
