NEWS: EDWARDS AND CO OPEN FORTITUDE VALLEY SALON

This new salon is our most elevated and stylish space yet, with inspiration taken from the Calile Hotel itself. I wanted to keep the space sleek and minimal in design, while adding elements that will raise the bar for our future locations.

Exciting news! Salon magnates, Edwards And Co have just opened their eighth Australian salon.

One of the group’s largest offering yet, Edwards And Co’s lush new site is located at the iconic Calile Hotel in the James Street precinct of Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley. A setting that places it among some of the city’s most exclusive boutiques and restaurants.

A project many months (and plans) in the making, Edwards And Co’s Fortitude Valley salon hosts an inspired lineup of talented creatives; from some of the nations most innovative hair stylists and colourists through to a handful of high demand makeup artists.

Brainchild of Edwards And Co founder and international educator, Jaye Edwards, the new salon is characteristically bright, open and minimally design; bearing evidence of Jaye’s penchant for detail and ability to curate a memorable salon experience.

“The most important thing is to create a beautiful environment for our clients and employees. I think one of the big reasons for our high staff retention has been the environments that we create,” Founder Jaye Edwards shared with THE JOURNAL in 2019.

“Key practical factors include big, open spacing, plenty of natural light and regions that are quite central and/or up and coming.”

“I don’t ever want my salons to feel like hair salons,” he added. “I want people to feel as though they’re walking into something more akin to a restaurant – with communal spaces in which people can work, chill out and spend time, rather than focusing solely on their hair.”

Of the new site, Jaye continues; “James Street is one of most beautiful retail precincts in the country so I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to be apart of it.”

“This new salon is our most elevated and stylish space yet, with inspiration taken from the Calile Hotel itself. I wanted to keep the space sleek and minimal in design, while adding elements that will raise the bar for our future locations.”

“The space is also one of our biggest, with 40 chairs and capacity to fit a team of more than 30, giving us the opportunity to really make our mark on Brisbane.”

More than just a salon, Edwards And Co’s new site is a tangible reflection of the Edwards And Co culture; fortifying the brand’s hallmarks of creativity, inclusivity and exceptional customer service. A culture, a look and a lifestyle. As is the Edwards And Co way.
