For the second consecutive year, high performance, plant-powered hair care brand Aveda have partnered with Take 3 for the Sea to work together toward a mutual goal of stopping plastic pollution and protecting our environment.

AVEDA Teams, salons and guests will continue to raise awareness to fundraise $100,000 during the STOP Ocean Plastic Pollution Fundraiser and help Take 3 work with education, social and community groups nationwide to remove 1.5 million pieces of rubbish from our environment.

Aveda have participated with a nationwide clean-up day that was held last year whilst encouraging staff and customers to start an individual fundraiser page and sign up to join one of the five clean-up events scheduled in Brisbane, Byron Bay, Melbourne and Sydney with all donations directly supporting Take 3.

The partnership is of huge significance with AVEDA’s mission statement to ‘care for the world we live in’ perfectly aligned with Take 3’s commitment to stopping and solving plastic pollution. Continuing to support Take 3’s mission to protect oceans and reduce plastic pollution, Aveda also designed a trio of scrunchies made sustainably from post-consumer recycled plastics, 100% RPET.

Earlier this month, Aveda held a “Take 3 x Aveda” movie night to host 200 guests to a screening of “The Lost City” to continue to spread the word of Take 3 and Aveda’s on-going partnership raising $5,000 on the night.

Since 1999, Aveda has made incredible impact’s through annual Earth Month campaigns, raising over $60 million for environmental causes around the world. Sustainability is deeply rooted in Aveda’s DNA, and preserving and protecting water resources like our ocean have been fundamental to the brand for decades.

For more than a decade Take 3 has been committed to reducing global plastic pollution through education that inspires participation, international campaigns and clean ups. With a simple message, Take 3 pieces of rubbish with you when you leave the beach, waterway or… anywhere and you have made a difference, has sparked a global movement that encourages everyone to get involved and help protect our oceans from plastic pollution.

By 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish and with an estimated 8 million tonnes of plastic entering the ocean every year, raising awareness and forming this partnership is more important than ever.

An incredible effort from the Aveda team, and an another exciting year for this all-important partnership!
