MBFWA: COMPLETE SCHEDULE REVEALED

With Fashion Week less than a few weeks away, IMG have released an updated agenda for 2018.

Kicking off Sunday 13th May, MBFWA will see an impressive roster of 90+ designers present their wares at Sydney’s Carriageworks and surrounding offsite locations.

Headlining the week will be Aussie outfit Camilla and Marc, whose luxe Resort ’18 show will set the tone for a week of fashionable activity. The announcement marks a full circle maturation for the duo, who shot to prominence as ‘New Generation’ designers fifteen years ago.

“We are thrilled to open Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia in 2018,” says Camilla Freeman-Topper. “It was our platform to launch the brand in 2003 and we have enjoyed many highlights together.  It is exciting to reflect on 15 years and all the experiences we’ve had.”

“It’s a fantastic platform for young, up-and-coming and established designers to present their collections and amplify to a local and a global audience” adds Marc Freeman.

Iconic Australian label Camilla will make their return to the MBFWA schedule after two years, rounding out the week with a Japanese inspired closing show entitled ‘The Girl I was, the Woman I am’.

“We’re excited to return to the MBFWA stage with out best collection to date,” said Founder Camilla Franks. ‘In CAMILLA world, there is no such thing as a modest show, we are theatrical by nature and always unexpected.”

“We’ve set the bar high in the past with llamas in Centennial Park and African choirs on Sydney Harbour – and this year’s show will take us even higher.”

Friday 18th May will see the week conclude with MBFWA’s scheduled seminar series, while Carriageworks will open it’s doors to the public on May 19th and 20th for the consumer focused MBFWA Weekend Edition.
