L’Oréal Professionnel Colour Jam 2016

Love colour? Love Melbourne? Then there was only one place you needed to be over the weekend; L’Oréal Professionnel COLOUR JAM. Building on the incredible success of the event in 2015, L’Oréal Professionnel COLOUR JAM welcomed over 500 hairdressers and salon owners to Melbourne. A two day jam-packed education event, L’Oréal Professionnel COLOUR JAM was held on the 11th-12th of September, within the spectacular surrounds of Melbourne’s iconic Crown Complex. L’Oréal Professionnel’s pinnacle Colour Jam Hair show saw Chris Williams and Andy Heasman from RUSH Hair & Beauty (UK) take to the stage as the headlining guest act for the weekend’s epic show.

COLOUR JAM INSIGHTS FORUM: The two day education event kicked off with welcome drinks and the COLOUR JAM Insights seminar; an informative forum to help salon owners lift their business game and get the insights direct from individuals excelling in their chosen departments. After a warm welcome by General Manager of L’Oréal Professionnel, Olga Zanetti, the audience was then treated to presentations by experts from recruitment, internal communications, customer experience and business development. Beginning with how to build the right team for your salon, Simon Gillian, Talent Management and Acquisition Manager for L’Oréal Australia spoke about the importance of how to recruit and retain staff within a digital environment and how to engage with new generations as well as some handy hints interview practices to help find the best employee for you. Marnie Carroll, Corporate and Internal Communications Manager for L’Oréal Australia, spoke about the importance of communicating to ensure team members are working with owners to help drive the same business objectives.

L’Oréal Australia Customer Experience Director Emma Williamson delved into examples highlighting how social media can be used to actively service your customers and how vital it is to create a positive customer experience online as well as in the salon. While Kellie Glenister, Business Development manager for L’Oréal Professional Products brought things a little closer to home, as she explained who the Australian beauty customer is with insights into their beauty behaviours and the client’s emotion journey at different stages when visiting the salon. For the finale, David Mannah, Creative Director of M Division, joined Olga on stage as the two announced their partnership for the 2017 Australian Hair Fashion Awards. Submissions are now open for the next year’s event, which is celebrating its 25th Anniversary. A milestone for Australia’s premier hairdressing competition.
