LISTICLE: 5 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THE AHFA’S, 2020

2020 has thrown some CURVEBALLS, and to say the production of this years’ AHFA’s has been challenging, would be putting it well, lightly. But with the support of our incredible team and Official Partner in Dyson, we are so proud of what you’re all about to experience – either onsite or virtually – this Sunday, November 8th. So here’s a littler top 5 on some things to expect and get excited for, on Australian hairdressing’s night of nights. One for the history books, we’re sure.

We’re streaming LIVE.

Sorry, but if you’re not across this news, where have you been? COVID has of course impacted our capacity to have you all in attendance, but it’s no secret, hairdressers know how to party – anywhere, anytime. This said, we have no doubt the vibes will be high and outfits on point, right across the country, from your respective homes, salons and so on. And none of this party up the top, comfy down the bottom, Zoom-style business, this is your chance to dress UP in celebration of this epic industry. So make the most of it. How do you join the live stream? Via THE JOURNAL’s YouTube and Facebook channels here:

The festivities kick off at 6:30PM, so get your people and your party plans in order.

There's an award for best dressed.

That’s right, we’ll be keeping a close eye on the hashtag #ahfa20 to see who, male or female, looks the most fabulous. The winner will take out a prize pack of tools and professional products, and will be announced post-proceedings over at the @aushairfashionawards Instagram (so make sure you’re following!). Does this extend to our virtual attendees? Absolutely!

We’ve created some fancy Instagram filters so you can pretend you’re in attendance.

Accessible via @thejournalmag and @aushairfashionawards, we’ve gone and created some custom AHFA filters to really spruce up your social game. Move from media wall (cue: paparazzi flash), to award winner (yes, you can get your virtual hand on one of our slick new trophies), and finally, the cover of THE JOURNAL magazine: The epitome of prestige.

Our red carpet, won't actually be red.

It’s going to be BLACK! Why? Because it’s slick, minimal and synonymous with all things fast and fancy (and it’s the preferred foundation palette of our loyal Partners, Dyson) … with a fuchsia spotlight of course.

Our black carpet will be hosted by SketchShe.

The Bondi babes slash comedians Australia (and beyond) is quickly falling for. Do yourself a favour and head over to @sketchshe to check their hilarious outtakes of life, love and so much more.
