In an exciting collaboration, KMS and cult fashion label Double Rainbouu have come together to create the latter’s Spring 21 campaign film.

Shot on set at Sydney’s The Bearded Tit, the campaign is a celebration of Sydney’s nightlife and the colourful characters that dwell within it. “With the recent near death of nightlife worldwide, for our Spring 21 campaign we wanted to go and have some fun in a cosy dark bar,” says Double Rainbouu’s Co Founder and Creative Director Mikey Nolan. “The Bearded Tit is our favourite little neighbourhood bar in Sydney and a living piece of art, so it was a natural choice.”

With Ali Holmes at the helm as KMS Lead Stylist, it should come as no surprise that the four key styles featured throughout the campaign film are fun, fresh and the perfect match for Double Rainbouu’s ultra cool threads.

We unpack two of the key looks created for this exciting collaboration below.

Look 1 | Monique Delore

Hair was flat layered to keep it from appearing too bulky, and dried flat into Monique’s head without over manipulating the hair and utilising her natural wave and movement.

“I continually sprayed Monique’s hair with water and Sea Salt Spray to help create that extra ‘lived-in’ look,” says Ali. “KMS HAIRPLAY Sea Salt Spray adds great texture to the hair, perfect for the finish I was after.”

The hair was prepped with KMS ADDPOWER Shampoo, KMS MOISTREPAIR Leave-In Conditioner, styled with KMS HAIRPLAY Sea Salt Spray and finished with KMS HAIRPLAY Makeover Spray.

Look 2 | Lochie Mitchell

It was all about fullness and thickness for Lochie’s look, achieved by prepping with KMS ADDVOLUME Shampoo & Conditioner, then styling with KMS ADDVOLUME Styling Foam

And in terms of technique? It was all in the twist! “I blow-dried in the KMS ADDVOLUME Styling Foam by twisting Lochie’s hair around my fingers at a 45-degree angle to create volume at the roots and that ‘lived-in’ look and also to keep it from becoming flat,” explained Ali.

Lochie’s look was finished with KMS ADDVOLUME Liquid Dust, applied to the hands and scrunched into the ends.
