A first-of-its-kind online hair festival, ‘Hairdressers United’ will host 40 hair and beauty professionals together under one digital roof, for a record-breaking 24hr live stream.
A celebration of industry solidarity, the unique event will see artists (from across 19 countries) cover both educational and creative content, from hair colouring (blonding, balayage and blur techniques), cutting, styling and barber work through to up-dos, bridal and braiding trends.
Powered by social media, the Henkel hosted charity initiative will be held across Facebook and Instagram. Partner platform YouTube will also support, with additional creative content airing during allotted break intervals.
Further fortifying the hair industry’s global philanthropic efforts, all funds raised through user engagement and live donations will be given back to the community, with Henkel and the Fritz Henkel Foundation matching up to $100,000 in proceeds.
Each region will also have the opportunity to to allocate raised funds to a local charity or initiative of choice.
Moreover, ‘Hairdressers United will also aim to set a new Guinness World Record title for the ‘longest online hair education seminar streamed over the internet’ (as of 5th May, 2020); an achievement well and truly for the books (no pun intended).
Each artist will live-stream for 45 minutes on their respective specialist area. Content will also include information on how viewers can support with both the fundraising aspect and the world record attempt, wrapping up with a highly anticipated Q&A session.
Kicking things off? Australian delegates Natalie Anne and Travis Balcke, the former of whom will host proceedings for a period of 6 hours. Next on the hosting roster will be Joico Global Artistic Director (and friend of THE JOURNAL) Richard Mannah.
