Journal fans, meet Garreth Lenagh. A hairdresser at Prema Hair in Bondi Junction, he has started a charity called White Hair for Thailand in which Sydney gents are encouraged to colour their hair blonde to raise awareness and aid for children in Thailand.
Working closely with Hands Across the Water, an Australian charity running orphanages in Thailand, White Hair for Thailand will be holding an event at Prema Surry Hills on 23rd November to increase awareness for the charity and we are encouraging as many Journal readers as possible to head on over and get their blonde on! With the help of Premas colourists, who are in charge of creating the blonde masterpieces and Goldwell Australia who are kindly donating colour for use on the day, Garreth will be working towards raising as many funds as possible up until the 24th December 2014, when the funds will be donated to Thai children as a Christmas present.
“The Ice Bucket Challenge was a fundraiser that participants only had to commit a few minutes to. The guys who will dye their hair are making a large gesture as they will have to wait until the colour grows out so we are so grateful to them! I ask that everyone tries to support us by donating what they can. To get the hairdressing and fashion industries behind us would be amazing,” says Garreth.
Garreth would like to personally thank Alana Dunphy, Ashleigh Boughton, Heath Grimmond, Melanie Cooper, Matt Rogan, Billie Shepard, Nick Plumber, Bindi Hay, Goldwell Australia and Francesco Ruggerino for their contribution to this event.
