ghd Hits the Runway

The inspiration for the Kookia Runway Spring Summer 2014/15 collection was the boardwalks and beachside Café restaurants in the South of France, where we find an abundance of beautiful relaxed modern glamorous women. Cascading waves and curls were styled using the soon to be released ghd curve range of tongs and wands, creating a hair look that was voluminous and effortless. With a hint of brushed out curl remaining, hair maintained a luxurious feel with a touch of glamour, perfectly suited to the vibrant colours in the collection.

looks created using the ghd curve range

The looks for the collection were created using the new ghd curve range of four innovative curling tools. Two wands and two tongs have been created in response to research which showed stylists needed a full range of curling tools to create long-lasting, specific looks regardless of hair type, length or texture. Developed by ghd’s team of Cambridge-based scientists, ghd curve tackles the issue of curl-drop by utilising patented tri-zone™technology. Three quick-thinking sensors in the barrel heat the tools to 185°C and maintain this temperature, constantly and evenly, delivering long-lasting, healthier-looking curls – that last.

ghd curve makes styling faster, too; rapid heat-up; the ability to load more hair onto the barrel and a quick set time means looks can be created in minimal time with maximum results. Finer hair needs approximately five seconds on the barrel, coarser hair up to eight seconds, meaning you can give your clients the look they want – faster. You’ll also be able to offer them a fuller style menu, using all four tools in the ghd curve range. ghd curve will join the current line-up of stylers which includes five hair stylers, two hairdryers, a range of styling brushes and wet-line.
