Bruce Masefield joined Sassoon in the late 80s where he quickly developed a natural flair for the world famous Sassoon cutting techniques. Having established himself in the salon as a highly successful stylist and proving himself to have a keen eye for spotting trends, Bruce was appointed Assistant Creative Director 1991 and Creative Director in 1993.

Bruce’s passion, dedication and commitment in developing the Sassoon Team on a wider platform led to him being appointed UK Creative Director in 2006, a job which he describes as, ‘immensely rewarding and inspiring.’ Today he brings a great energy and upbeat personality to the company. In what he calls an “intoxicating” profession, Bruce’s journey at Sassoon has allowed him to skillfully combine effortless, modern hair with technical know-how; he works with style and simplicity to create a multitude of bespoke looks, perfect for any hair type.

As well coaching and teaching the next generation of the Sassoon Team, Bruce has developed an international reputation for being the consummate professional on the many shows and seminars he undertakes globally. Bruce’s ability to combine international fashion with contemporary, expertly polished hair means that he is constantly pushing the boundaries and intuitively knows what looks sexy and fresh. Bruce works closely alongside the Sassoon International Creative Team to develop and create two Sassoon seasonal collections a year.

‘Putting together each collection is a truly inspirational process. Sometimes it will start with a definite idea, or a particular style period or with the most abstract of concepts,’ says Bruce. His editorial work has appeared in British and China GQ, GQ Style and Hunger while his collaborations with designers such as Xander Zhou, Simon Goa and Edeline Lee have achieved critical acclaim and column inches. Bruce is also in demand as a commentator on hair and fashion trends contributing to online publications such as Never Underdressed and Get The Gloss.
