TREND: Get the Diamond Blonde Look with Skaiste Buinicke

A precisely cut blonde bob has claimed the spotlight at the Fellowship for British Hairdressing Awards, with London-based stylist Skaiste Buinicke of Brooks & Brooks named Snapshot Image of the Year 2025 for her Diamond Blonde Bob.

The look is defined by its sharp, one-length silhouette and a refined blend of blonde tones that shimmer from every angle. Clean, modern and highly polished, the bob balances technical precision with a soft, light-reflective finish- a combination that ultimately set the image apart.

The foundation of the look begins with a strong, blunt, one-length bob, creating a clean canvas for the colour work that follows. At the crown, Buinicke worked within a diamond-shaped section, applying a customised blend of L’Oréal Professionnel Dialight-  20g of 4, 10g of 5.8 and 5g of 5.07- mixed with 6 vol developer to deliver depth and a delicately enhanced finish without compromising shine.

To build contrast and brightness, the underlayers were pre-lightened using Blond Studio 9 with 20 vol developer, allowing the lighter tones to lift cleanly beneath the surface while maintaining control through the mid-lengths and ends.

Once lightened, the hair was toned for high gloss using a refined mix of 20g of 10.12 and 10g of 10.2, combined with 9 vol developer. This final toning step softened the blonde and elevated its reflective quality, giving the look its signature diamond-like finish.

Styling was kept intentionally simple, with the hair blow-dried smooth and finished with irons to enhance the sleek lines of the cut and maximise shine.

The result is a modern blonde bob that showcases the power of precision cutting and considered colour placement- a striking example of how classic forms can be reimagined through expert technique and restraint.
