The ghd x Wella Professionals AHFA Opening Runway didn’t just open the night – it set the standard sky high for the 2026 AHFA Gala.

A collaboration between ghd and Wella Professionals, the runway transported attendees to a whole new ethereally elegant world with hair taken to new heights, lengths and dreamy colourscapes more closely comparable to works of art rather than simply hair.

Hair Direction by Renya Xydis united the ghd creative artist team – Pauline McCabe, Kelly Manu, Belinda Mills, Brodie Tskinaris – and the Wella Professionals Ambassadors Lyndal Salmon and Jack Morton alongside the Next Gen team – Marilyn Guarino, Chetan Mongia, Mikey Forster, Mikaela Ukiyo, Faye Redfern and Madison Finn – for the ultimate backstage crew.

Under Renya’s direction and made possible with ghd’s industry leading technology and Wella Professionals’ stable of products, the Love on Earth runway came to life through hair as structure, shape and finish presented in a finely spun dream-like colour palette.

What you missed on the runway.

The show fused editorial hair direction, sculptural shapes, flowing texture and painstakingly crafted ‘hair lace’ finished off through a colour story that moved between metallic pastels and earthy depth, giving each look a sense of dimension and light without breaking cohesion.

ghd brought clean, high-gloss precision to the styling, while Wella Professionals layered in depth and dimension through colour that felt rich and product that created some seriously architectural shape.
