
The Australian Hairdressing Council (AHC) has appointed Fiona Beamish as its interim Chief Executive Officer, effective February 2025. With over 30 years of experience in the global hair product industry, Fiona brings a wealth of expertise in education, sales, and training, having worked across Australia, the UK, Ireland, and Asia. She has also owned and operated the national distribution for a leading UK-based hair brand.
Fiona’s appointment comes at a time when the hairdressing industry faces significant shifts. She is passionate about supporting the community and fostering business connections. “The past decade has underscored the need for support and collaboration in our industry,” Fiona notes. Her leadership is grounded in her background as an apprentice hairdresser, combining creativity with strong business strategies to help professionals succeed.
Known for her ability to spot trends and implement innovative solutions, Fiona has mentored businesses and is committed to elevating professional standards. “I’m thrilled to return to the AHC and lead such a dedicated and passionate community,” she says.
