FASHION: LOUIS VUITTON GRAND MAISON OPENS IN SYDNEY

It’s the party season… and breaking through the melee of events and parties is a feat worth honouring in our books.

Last week, legendary fashion house Louis Vuitton threw the bash of the season… a title awarded to them by their 500-strong guest list.

Celebrating the official debut of their Sydney ‘Maison’ boutique (one of a handful of its kind) and redesigned by fashion architect Peter Marino, Louis Vuitton opened their opulent doors to a veritable who’s-who of celebrities and Sydney notables – including a third time pregnant Lara Worthington, Mrs. Thor (otherwise known as Elsa Pataky) and mega models Georgia Fowler and Jessica Hart.

The whopping $9 million revamp of the 365 George Street flagship set the tone of the night, as decadence and opulence reigned supreme; a proponent of the celebrity guest list decked head to toe in Vuitton. As such, the red carpet moments were in abundance, as the four-tiered store was filled with VIP guests.

Armed with French inspired canapés and champagne, guests floated through the store to peruse the latest offerings from Nicolas Ghesquière’s most recent womenswear collection, and men’s artistic director Virgil Abloh’s latest ready-to-wear offerings – along with the label’s latest Objects Nomad collection and an immense selection of fine jewellery and leather goods.

As lights dimmed and the evening seemed in conclusion, the night kicked into second gear as guests were transported to a whole new world of Louis Vuitton ‘After Dark’. The after party held at Campbell’s Cove, lit by the brands signature logo and the twinkling backdrop of the harbour bridge.

Keeping the party spirit alive was deck master and one half of Flight Facilities, Jimmy2Sox; followed by a special and rather exclusive performance from Grammy-winning Australian musician Flume who closed out the killer event.
